Christian Marclay silent(music box)

今年2022年に東京都現代美術館で大規模な個展を開催していたクリスチャン・マークレーのマルチプル作品。絶版で国際的にみてもほとんど流通しないレアなオルゴール。フィラデルフィア美術館やブルックリン美術館などが所蔵(参考: 4, 5枚目)

Peter Norton Family Christmas Projectの一貫で制作されたChristian Marclayの作品で、ニューヨーク近代美術館で2005に購入。スイス・リュージュ社製のオルゴールをインストールし、蓋を開けるとクリスチャン・マークレーが作曲した「TINSEL」を奏でる。無垢の木製ボックスの蓋には「SILENT(静かに)」。開けると「LISTEN(聴きなさい)と焼き文字が入る。曲名と、作品の言葉がアナグラム(同じアルファベットを使って別の言葉をつくる)になっており、これはフルクサスのアーティストのひとりケン・フリードマンの(Open and Shut Case」に着想を得ている。
状態は良好。
まず市場には流通しない希少なもの。
アートやコアな音楽好きにおすすめ。
