ジャマイカのダンスホール勃興期において、ウィルフレッド・リモニアス（Wilfred Limonious）こそ、音楽にヴィジュアル言語を与えた張本人だった。もとは新聞で漫画を描いていたリモニアスだったが、80年代から90年代にかけて数千点にもおよぶアルバムジャケットを手がけた。ホットピンクやけばけばしいイエロー、セクシーな女性やジャマイカン・ギャング、書きなぐられたパトワ語など、リモニアスが築いたスタイルはシーンが常に立ち返る、時代の象徴的デザインとなった。
そんなリモニアスの作品を集め、作家のクリス・ベイトマン（Chris Bateman）と編集者のアル・ニューマン（Al Newman）は1冊の本にした。
ニューマンは、イギリス発のブランドClarksがいかにジャマイカ人に長く愛されているかについて書いた『Clarks in Jamaica』を編集した人物だ。
今回ふたりが刊行した
『In Fine Style: The Dancehall Art of Wilfred Limonious』は、下品な新聞用イラストから彼のアイコニックなアルバムのジャケットアートまで、リモニアスの世界観が詰まった資料性の高い1冊であり、現在は入手困難な画集。
