マンチェスターシティとNIKEは6年間にわたってパートナーシップを結んでおり、契約は昨シーズン限りで満了を迎えている。これを機に“マッシュアップ・ユニホーム”と称したメモリアル・ユニホームを製作したのだが、このデザインが“斬新すぎる”と話題を呼んでいるのだ。
“マッシュアップ・ユニホーム”はマンCのクラブカラーである水色を基調に、これまで発表されてきた9種のユニホームをマッシュアップ（混ぜ合わせる）し、縫い合わせたようなデザイン。これに対しサポーターからは「これまで見た中で一番デザイン性が高いユニホームだ」という意見から、「エイプリルフールの冗談だろ？」「試合では絶対に着てほしくない」といった批判まで、賛否の声が上がっている。
ホームキットのみで構成したバルセロナやインテルのマッシュアップ・ユニフォームと異なり、シティはアウェイとサードも含めているためデザインに統一感がなく、前衛アートのような印象です。
今回のマッシュアップには9つのユニフォームを使用し、背面には15-16シーズンまで使っていた旧デザインのエンブレムが付いています。
契約6周年にちなんでか6,000着の限定販売でしたが、大人気で追加生産されましたが既に完売。もう日本で手に入れるのは困難です。最後のNIKEジャージを手に入れてください。早い者勝ちです。もちろん背面にはシリアルナンバー入りのタグもついています。値下げは出来ません。
背面にシリアルナンバーのタグの無いジャージが出品されていますが、シリアルナンバーのタグがないものは偽物になります。
